Basically, Nemo’s life is good and this music reflects the joy and wonder he has in his life. At this point the story is still in the stage of exposition—there is some narrative hook that is going to grab the audience, but not quite yet. The music is light and happy. creates a joyful and carefree atmosphere. This music is supposed to characterize Nemo’s life as a young fish—he does not have any worries, and his life is relatively unfettered by problems of the world out in the big sea, as he mainly sticks close to home. However, the music does foreshadow, at least a bit in all its utter happiness, that perhaps this music is a backdrop for the more serious material that is going to be coming in the future. Basically this â€Å"happy† music is a lead-in to a more tranquil side of music which will match the tone of the movie when Nemo gets lost.
